The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God,
and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
The Grace Lutheran Church Council
voted to return to in-person worship
on Pentecost Sunday, May 23rd
It has been over a year since we have worshipped together in the Sanctuary and we are very excited! We are also very committed to safety and appropriate COVID-19 precautions will be taken, following the Phase 3 Washington State requirements for Religious Organizations. Please read the following information carefully so that you can make an informed decision about whether or not you feel ready to join us in the sanctuary. If you aren’t comfortable, or able, to attend in person you will still be able to watch online. The service will be streamed live on YouTube and also available anytime after that for viewing. Further instructions and a link for viewing the live stream video will be emailed soon.
Reservations will be required and taken through the church office Monday thru Thursday the week before the service. (This means we start taking reservations THIS MONDAY, MAY 17!) Please make your reservation through the church office by calling (360) 385-1595 or emailing email@example.com. Reservations must include the number of people in your group. Crissy will reply to all emails and phone messages to confirm. In order to comply with all of the Washington state indoor gathering restrictions, those arriving without reservations will unfortunately be turned away. If you have a reservation and are unable to make it, please let Crissy know as soon as possible before worship in case we have a waitlist. We will allow a maximum of 40 people to make reservations in addition to the worship assistants. Please do not come to church if you have knowingly been exposed to someone with Covid-19 or have any of the following symptoms (including but not limited to): Fever or chills, regular cough, sore throat, loss of sense of smell or taste, shortness of breath. Thank you!
Mask and social distancing information:
Masks are required for the duration of the service whether or not you are vaccinated, and whether or not you are in a vaccinated section. The vaccinated section requires masks but members will not be distanced. To sit in the vaccinated section, you will be required to show proof of vaccination (your physical vaccination card or a digital photo of your card). There will be a socially distanced section as well for non-vaccinated people and vaccinated people who want to social distance. Masks are required in both sections. Vaccinated members who would like to sit socially distanced should indicate that when you make your reservation. Thank you!
We ask that you start arriving at 10:00 for 10:30 worship. We will require social distancing as people enter, please use the ramp and attend to the 6 foot markers. In the narthex you will check in, have your temperature taken, show your vaccination card if you have one (this is required to sit in the vaccinated section), pick up your disposable communion package and your bulletin, then be guided to your seat by an usher. Traffic through the narthex and sanctuary will move in one direction. You will enter through the front doors, go through the narthex to check in, enter the sanctuary as usual, and exit through the side door next to the altar and into the courtyard after worship has ended. The ushers will guide all of this. The two bathrooms near the sanctuary will be available throughout the service. For this purpose only you may go back through the sanctuary doors, you do not have to go through the courtyard to use the bathrooms. Communion will be taken at your seat using the provided disposable communion juice and bread. Singing is allowed with masks on. We will not pass an offering plate during the service, there will be one stationed at both the entry and exit of the sanctuary.
Please call the office with any questions. 360-385-1595.
